Too many Texas families are facing shelter insecurity, if you have time, energy, or resources to share please join us on our mission.

Please consider participating in one or more of our Working Groups. We need your expertise in these focus areas.

Housing and Rental Counseling

The Housing and Rental Counseling working group will develop support for building the capacity of a foreclosure intervention and rental counseling services statewide by encouraging communication and implementation of best practices between the network of counseling agencies, lenders and servicers, tenants and legal service providers, and others. The group will also identify and report on training and resource needs necessary to support the statewide network of counseling agencies.

Outreach and Education

The Outreach and Education working group will develop and implement an outreach and marketing campaign designed to reach Texas homeowners in danger of foreclosure and renters in danger of eviction, and help them connect with appropriate services and resources for assistance.

Resource Development

The Resource Development working group is responsible for identifying and securing the funding and resources to meet the goals of the Texas Housing Stability Collaborative (THSC) and for measuring the progress of the collaborative compared to established desired outcomes.

Strategy and Policy

The Strategy and Policy working group is responsible for understanding the scope of the foreclosure and rental issues in Texas and the impact on communities and families. And, will work to identify new strategies for addressing the impact of foreclosure and eviction, including utilization of local and federal resources, and suggesting regulatory and legislative approaches.

Our Mission

Housing Stability For All Texans

The Texas Housing Stability Collaborative focuses on Texans’ housing and economic stability by providing training, policy development, and public awareness of resources.

We’ve done this work before. In 2008, 90+ organizations formed under the banner of the “Texas Foreclosure Prevention Task Force,” and coordinated a statewide outreach campaign that averted thousands of foreclosures by linking homeowners to expert foreclosure mitigation counseling and financial coaching.

What We Believe

The Texas Housing Stability Collaborative believes that all Texans deserve safe, decent, and affordable housing.

In these uncertain times the threats to housing stability are immense and must be addressed in a thoughtful and purposeful manner. This Collaborative has assembled to provide the space for concerned citizens and organizations to assemble and serve our fellow Texans in need.
